TV’s Ice Road Truckers Profiles Tli Cho Landtran
A TV series that shattered popularity records for a documentary series in the US, History Channel’s Ice Road Truckers, is now airing in Canada. Balance Media is proud to have helped bring this show to the small screen.
When Original Productions contacted Tli Cho Landtran Transport to star in this documentary series, Tli Cho Landtran, a long-time client of ours, asked us to act as their liaison to the production company. We managed services agreements, created online initiatives to help promote the company, and handled marketing and media requests, among other initiatives. A very exciting project, and we’re happy to see it make its way to Canada!
In case you haven’t heard of Ice Road Truckers, the show features drivers from Tli Cho Landtran Transport who travel on Canada’s northern ice roads to deliver goods to remote northern mines and communities. It’s a race against time to see which driver can transport the most loads before the roads turn from ice back to water. While the show tends to over-dramatize the danger of the ice roads (they’re actually quite safe), the episodes still convey the excitement, intrigue and business necessity that Canada’s northern ice roads provide.

After the first season aired in the US, the drivers featured on the show became instant celebrities–doing the late-night talk show circuits, appearing as special guests at NASCAR races, and appearing in stories across the national media. Season two of Ice Road Truckers has already aired in the US.
The show is currently airing in Canada on History Channel. Check out upcoming episodes of Ice Road Truckers Season One. Or, visit the US History Channel website to watch full episodes and more behind-the-scenes action.
