Millennium’s New File Transfer System Makes Collaboration Easy
Millennium EMS Solutions is an environmental engineering company who we’ve worked with on various projects in the past. They’re a growth company, and are always looking for ways to streamline their processes.
Our most recent project for Millennium was a new file transfer site. The site allows collaboration to happen seamlessly and headache-free. After all, stress shouldn’t be a mandatory part of working on projects, but with traditional file transfer sites, it often is.
The Millennium File Transfer site is a place where Millennium’s project files can be securely shared by employees, customers, suppliers, and anyone else involved with the project.
Stress shouldn’t be a mandatory part of working on projects, but with traditional file transfer sites, it often is.
Collaborators are sent a username and password to log into the site. Once logged in, they can view and upload files to their projects. Users can only view projects they’ve been given access to, protecting the privacy of other clients and projects.
Because access is granted by user login, not project login, one user can collaborate on several projects without having to remember multiple usernames or passwords. This also reduces the likelihood of a password falling into the wrong hands, granting access to the wrong people.
Each project displays its date of creation and last update. It also displays the project’s collaborators and any files each of them have uploaded. This makes for greater accountability and a smoother communication process.
One of the biggest problems with many FTP sites is that they become filled with disorganized folders of old or unnecessary files, making it difficult to find what you need. The Millennium File Transfer site avoids that problem through self maintenance. After a file is uploaded, it will be deleted automatically after a certain number of days. This ensures that the site is used for its intended purpose: file transfer, not file storage. It also eliminates the need for IT staff to facilitate the creation and maintenance of FTP sites and user accounts.
