New LTL Carrier Pulls Ahead in Competitive Landscape

We recently developed a new website for Landtran Express, and we’re happy to say that it’s up, running, and looking good.

Landtran Express is a less-than-truckload (LTL) company based in Edmonton. Their business consists mainly of driving regular, dedicated routes to select locations in northwestern Canada. As a fairly new company, they had been having some difficulty establishing an online identity because they didn’t have a website. They are also part of the Landtran Group of Companies, and because they lacked their own website, would sometimes be mistaken for other companies within the group. One of the goals of their new website was to help carve out an identity and strong online presence.

One of the challenges we faced with the Landtran Express website was that they don’t offer a variety of services. As a business, this is an incredibly smart move because it positions them as specialists in a niche market. However, from a web development point of view this can be tricky because it could result in a lean website that looks a little bare.

Instead of seeing their niche service offerings as limiting, we chose to see it as an opportunity to really expand on the content. Instead of describing their LTL services on only one page, we were able to create a different page for every community they serve, outlining service advantages specific to those communities. Not only does this provide prospective customers with more information, it also helps boost search results. If someone Googles “Grande Prairie LTL,” Landtran Express will rank high in the search results because they have an entire page with those terms in the title.

Having extra space on the new website also gave us the opportunity to provide Landtran Express’s customers with extra tools and resources such as fuel surcharge rates, online credit applications, and industry links. The company is focused on providing excellent customer service, so having these tools available helps solidify that.

Taking advantage of Landtran Express’s niche services, as well as their dedication to customer service, helped us build a site that establishes the company’s identity.
